Subscription Levels

The Montana Doctrine has four levels of involvement for readers, starting at the price of free.

Free: The Blog

The Montana Doctrine blog showcases updates whenever we travel. Most posts will be public and aim to capture what life is like for everyday people. We travel beyond the typical tourist destinations and into the heart of each destination.

Some posts, however, will be available exclusively to subscribers. To make sure you don’t miss a thing, subscribe now.

Subscribers: The Newsletter

Every Thursday, subscribers will receive a digital newsletter with a curated selection of important international stories from a diverse range of trusted authors and publications. Additionally, these stories will come accompanied by a quick summary and analysis. Because the world is bigger than our own backyards, and what happens elsewhere affects people everywhere.

Starting in Q2 of 2022, subscribers will be able to comment on all posts.

Supporters: The Publication

In addition to our subscriber benefits, supporters will receive a quarterly print publication (yes, on paper, delivered by post) that features unpublished stories that go further in-depth into our target destinations. The format may vary by edition, but the end result is a one-of-a-kind look into what interests our readers most.

Currently in production: A verbal and visual walking tour of downtown San Jose, Costa Rica (so detailed that you don't even need to be there to enjoy it)

Upcoming: Living in Lisbon

Sustainers: The Board

In addition to our supporter benefits, our sustainer-level members will have direct access to Montana Doctrine’s editorial board to help shape the direction of future projects as we work together to strengthen independent writing and journalism.
